Bitterballen (Dutch Finger Food)

Bitterballen

Lazy Sunday Morning. Everything went wrong since this morning, cause I have so many plan in my head. And we slept very late last night so I'd been a little bit cranky when I woke up. First thing I did was preparing breakfast for entire family. While waiting my yellow rice for breakfast ready, I browsed some website trying to look for something simple so I can still cook something with not too much effort. Since I felt really exhausted this morning and there's nothing left in my refrigerator.  And I had to maximise what I had.  And I was almost end up cooking french toast and scramble egg. Fortunately I came to my sense that's not the reason I started this blog at the first place.

So my choice was back to bitterballen, something dutch and I only had to buy milk cause almost everything were available in my kitchen. I picked one recipe from Indonesian website www.resepkita.com, because they had the easiest recipe to follow especially when you have limited material in your kitchen. And I started my cooking. It's only took less than two hours. The most boring part, especially for not-to-love-cooking person like me was the finishing.

Notes:
1. Remember not to make too big balls
2. You can use clear plastics to help you rounded your bitterballen
3. It's best served with mustard, mayonnaise and chilli/tomato sauce.
4. You can make almost 20 pieces with one recipe
5. My kids love it so much, and I'm a happy mommy.

Here's what you'll need

Let's Back to the Kitchen, shall we?

The idea of back to the kitchen movement just came across my mind.
I see that people today love to eat outside.
While they don't know how the cooking process and the ingredients of food they are eating.
People only love to check-in at restaurant for social media purpose and take photograph of their food
without knowing deeply what they eat.
I did that too. Many times.
I'm not a kitchen person.
I hate to cook.
However now i'm in my lowest interest of eating outside.
I feel that what happened today is that some restaurants are charged us overprice for food that
we can easily make in our kitchen.
And i want to use this condition of mine as turning point to start cooking.
So first, I asked my lovely sister to start this blog with me. So we have something that we can workout on together. Since she lives in Bandung and I live in Jakarta.
My sister love to cook. She cooks a lot of better than me.
So she excited to join this movement.
What is the rule?
We'll posting at least one recipe one week here in this blog.
The recipes can be from everywhere. And we have to mention our source.
We hope that it will give others idea to start cooking for their family.
And in the end, anybody who interest to our movement can join to be contributor in our blog.

One Recipe One Week, there's not too much to ask for, right?

Let's back to our kitchen, shall we?

Have a nice weekend.
